Can the Hammers Upset the Odds at The Etihad Stadium Tonight?
Last night saw a sizeable upset in the Capital One Cup semi finals as Premier League champions Manchester United travelled to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland and came away with their tails between their legs as they were beaten by the side bottom of the league. West Ham are just one place and one point above Sunderland, now can they repeat their fellow relegation struggler’s result by beating the big boys from Manchester this evening?
GR88.com certainly do not believe so as their Man City v West Ham match odds suggest a very comfortable victory for the home side at the Etihad Stadium this evening. City have suffered just a single loss at home in 14 matches this season with only Champions League holders Bayer Munich managing to the leave without a beating to their name and their Man City v West Ham odds do not suggest the Hammers getting anything tonight.
Man City v West Ham Odds:
Manchester City Victory – 1.16
Draw – 7.50
West Ham Victory – 15.00

City will likely rest many players for this Capital One Cup final four stage clash this evening in front of their own fans, but they will still be confident of victory as they a fantastic record at the Etihad Stadium this season as only the European champions and FIFA Club World Cup winners from Germany have walked away without losing in 14 games. They have managed to find the net on 52 occasions in the 13 matches at the Etihad Stadium as they have averaged four goals a game in winning matches in front of their own fans.
They have scored 57 goals in total in the Premier League alone this season and this is three times the amount scored by the visitors to the blue half of Manchester this evening who had built their side around Andy Carroll, who proceeded to get injured before the season had begun. As such they have struggled for goals and come into this match having lost four of their last five games and suffered a humiliating 5-0 thumping away at second tier side Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup at the weekend. The pressure is on Hammers manager Sam Allardyce at the moment and he will feel that his side need a result tonight, but can he guide his West Ham side to victory where so many have failed this season?
With West Ham’s pathetic performance at the weekend coupled with City’s home for this season and the Hammers last won away at City in 2006 leads me to believe that this match will see a comfortable victory for the home team this evening. Although City will rest players, they still have much more quality in their ranks than West Ham do in their starting XI and I cannot see this match being anything but a straightforward victory for the hosts tonight.
Back City -2.25 goals (half on City -2, half of City -2.5) @ 1.86 against West Ham in this Capital One Cup semi final first leg.
